Red Dead Redemption Delayed to October

Rockstar’s next title, Red Dead Redemption 2, now has an official release date of October 26th, 2018. This is a delay from the initially expected Spring 2018 release date. Rockstar apologized to fans for the delay, but also shared some new screenshots of the game’s vast open world. Rockstar has delayed many of its open world games in the past, but has rewarded fans with some of the most highly rated titles out there.

Microsoft Acquires Playfab

Earlier this week, Microsoft acquired Playfab, a startup aimed at making the mobile game development process quicker and easier. This comes on the heels of Microsoft pivoting their focus to be broader in the gaming market and trying to explore new avenues in the industry. However, the biggest news of the week surrounding the company has been the rumored acquisitions of various gaming companies such as EA and Valve. Many websites have been speculating on these major acquisitions, but there has been nothing close to an official confirmation.

Mario Kart Tour Announced

During a financial results briefing earlier this week, Nintendo announced Mario Kart Tour will be released before the end of the next fiscal year. The project will see the popular Mario Kart franchise brought to mobile for the first time. The next fiscal  year begins in April 2018, and ends in March 2019, leaving a wide potential window for release. During the same briefing it was also announced that a Mario animated film was in the works at Illumination, the studio behind Despicable Me and Minions.

Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Detailed

Ubisoft has pulled the curtain off of Rainbow Six: Siege’s  first event of their year 3 content in the form of a new mode, Outbreak. Gameplay will revolve around players fighting new extraterrestrial enemies using cooperative tactical skill. The operation will begin in early April, brings a host of new cosemtic items, as well as two new operators. The full reveal will take place at the Six Invitational later this month.

EA Sports UFC 3 [PS4/Xbox One] – EA’s third foirée into mixed martial arts is receiving mostly positive reviews and is currently the highest rated entry in the franchise, beating UFC 2 by one point on metacritic.
