Overwatch 2 will replace the original Overwatch – TheVerge.com

During a recent Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), Blizzard game director, Aaron Keller, revealed that Overwatch 2 will completely replace the original game. While players can be confident that all unlocked skins, cosmetics, and matchmaking ranks will be seamlessly transferred over to Overwatch 2, the move will mean that older game modes and the 6v6 format will sunset once the game launches October 4th.

 

Blizzard plans to acquire Spellbreak studio Proletariat to bolster World of Warcraft – VentureBeat.com 

Blizzard Entertainment has announced its intention to acquire the Boston-based developer Proletariat, with the aim of bolstering World of Warcraft’s development team. Additionally, Proletariat announced that its current project, the battle royale game Spellbreak, will be sunset as the team transitions to other work at Blizzard. The acquisition will be the largest that Blizzard has made in the last decade.

Nintendo held what it called an abbreviated ‘mini’ Nintendo Direct on Tuesday to showcase some of the new third-party titles coming to the Nintendo Switch over the next year. Some of the standout titles shown were Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, and ports of Nier: Automata, Portal 2, and the mainline Persona series, which will be appearing for the first time on a Nintendo console.
