Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto joins EA, starts new studio – Polygon.com
Marcus Lehto, former Bungie creative director, has joined EA and will be launching a new studio in Seattle, WA. As a game director for EA, Lehto will be overseeing the studio in its efforts to produce quality first-person games.
InGame and Nesta launch $69,000 game dev contest for healthier neighborhoods – GamesIndustry.biz
A non-profit tech agency Nesta, together with the R&D center InGame, has challenged game developers to submit their ideas for virtual healthy neighborhoods. “Our vision for the Nesta Playbox is to provide an evolving, data-rich game technology-based environment that enables Nesta to better map and understand the systemic challenge of obesity and test ways to improve access to healthy and affordable food,” says the director of creative innovation.
Jagex Partners to Publish Melvor Idle, An Idle RPG Inspired by RuneScape – MP1st.com
Jagex announced that it has partnered with Games by Malcs studio to develop Melvor Idle, set to release in November of 2021. The game was heavily inspired by RuneScape MMORPG, originally published by Jagex in 2001. It is possibly the largest and most updated MMORPG currently.
