EA and BioWare Announced an Upcoming Patch for Anthem Crashing PS4s 

BioWare says it has identified the issues in Anthem that were causing players’ PlayStation 4 systems to crash and anticipates issuing a patch by March 12. Based on in-store sales, Anthem earned a second week at the top of the U.K. video game charts.  

PlayStation 4 Firmware 6.50 Officially Brings Remote Play To iOS 

The days of paying for a premium app to remote play PlayStation 4 games on iPhones and iPads is over. On March 6th, PS4 released a firmware update that enables game streaming between the console and the newly-released PS4 Remote Play app. 

Valve: Rape Day Will Not Be Released on Steam 

Valve says it will not allow Rape Day, a visual novel that would have let players “verbally harass, kill people, and rape women” in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, on Steam. Rape Day was never available for sale on Steam. Customers could wishlist the game, which was expected to arrive on Steam in April.   In Jun 2018, Steam released a letter titled Who Gets to be on Steam indicating they would allow everything except for things that we decide are illegal, or straight up trolling.”   

China Regulator Approves 95 New Video Games, Including from Tencent, NetEase

China’s content regulator said it has approved the monetization of 95 new video games, including titles from Tencent Holdings Ltd and NetEase Inc. The games include Tencent’s Journey to Fairyland 2, a 3D online game, and two others from NetEase. Without approval, companies cannot monetize games in China, such as through in-game purchases.
