PlayStation Studios has acquired the company Nixxes Software, a developer known for PC ports and optimizations. While no specific goals or projects have been announced, the acquisition promises exciting technical improvements in PlayStation Studios IP.
After a 26-year partnership, the Finnish developer, Housemarque, has officially been acquired by Sony. Their most recent title, Returnal, shows off their creative strides in third-person action gaming after numerous successful arcade-style titles in collaboration with PlayStation Studios.
Casey Hudson, former BioWare general manager, launches Humanoid Studios, an “independent video game company built to unleash the creative freedom of developers, bringing innovation and artistry to players through an all-new IP.” Hudson hopes to attract new developers with flexible working options, a flat organizational structure, and “small, agile teams.”
