Ubisoft wins lawsuit against DDoS attack operations – GamesIndustry.biz

Ubisoft wins a lawsuit against the group selling software used to carry out the DDoS attacks on several multiplayer games, including Rainbow Six: Siege. The defendants will be required to pay over $153,000 in damages to Ubisoft and cease their operations.

 

Hades and Ghost of Tsushima triumph at GDC Awards 2021 – GamesIndustry.biz

The Game Developers Choice Awards named Supergiant’s Hades the 2021 Game of the Year. Ghost of Tsushima by Sucker Punch productions was awarded Best Visual Design, while Umurangi Generation by Origame Digital snagged $12,000 in awards and prizes.

After Epic’s antitrust suit was officially linked to a multi-state lawsuit against Google’s Play Store policies, Epic files an update to its suit against Google. Although most filing details have been sealed, new allegations include Google’s monopoly-styled behavior on Android and anticompetitive conduct between Google and Apple.

 

Space Punks: Exclusive To Epic Games Store – Jagex.com

Runescape developer Jagex has announced a new free-to-play sci-fi adventure game, Space Punks, coming in Early Access exclusively to the Epic Games Store on July 14th. The game is developed by Flying Wild Hog, developers of the Shadow Warriors franchise, and will be the first title released under the “Jagex Partners” third-party publishing program.
