Splitgate is like Portal, but a competitive shooter
Splitgate is a new free-to-play first-person shooter developed by 1074 Games. Splitgate feels like a return to the Quake era games with its fast-paced gameplay and explosive action using an entertaining mix of gunplay and portal system that lets players set up various tactical plays to navigate the multi-level maps. However fun the gameplay may be, the game does suffer from being still in development and from a new studio; much of the game feels simplistic and unpolished, with minimalistic animations and lackluster sound design. These aspects do not detract much from the gameplay, but rather show the game has much promise and needs continued support to get the refinement it needs.

Loot Box Bill “Riddled With Inaccuracies,” Says ESA
US Senate is reviewing a bill, which would ban loot box systems from video games. The wording of the bill, however, has drawn significant criticism as it contains numerous “inaccuracies” and fails to represent “how video games work” which would lead to many video game consumers and producers in America to suffer significantly. Those who propose the bill have stated that the intent is to eliminate predatory sale tactics aimed towards minors; yet the current state of the bill proves very vague on the specifics of what kind of games would be affected, leaving too much room for interpretation and ignoring established guidelines for age demographic marketing.
